Celebrating Australia Day

For those of you who don't live downunder, you may not be aware that January 26 is Australia Day.
It commemorates the date in 1788 that the British flag was hoisted at Botany Bay, roughly where Sydney grew to be.

If you want to see what your knowledge of Australia is like, try the self marking quizzes at one of my other places. There's an easy and a harder version with questions developed by a good friend.

    Hi Kerrie

    I found your links here helpful, as we are going to a corporate Australia Day event to watch the fireworks and wanted a little background info in case we were quizzed!

    We had lunch with friends and went to the pictures (Saw Charlie Wilson's War). Our daughter and son-in-law in Abu Dhabi were going to go to an Australian BBQ lunch at the Hilton hotel they thought.
