When I was a child my grandfather used to go round the traps, meaning he checked the rabbit traps for what had come in over night. My RSS reader is a bit like that. Here are some crime fiction postings that I've caught recently.- Adrian Hyland, winner of the 2007 Best First Fiction Ned Kelly Award, gets some kudos for DIAMOND DOVE aka MOONLIGHT DOWNS on International Noir Fiction.
Adrian Hyland's first crime novel navigates with aplomb some difficult territory. - On Crime Always Pays, Declan has caught up with a preview of Jar City, an Icelandic thriller based on Arnaldur Indridason’s novel of the same name.
- The Book Bitch Blog and The Crime Fiction Dossier are talking about Brad Meltzer, whom I know nothing about yet.
- Crime Scene NI talks about Declan Burke's self-published internet novel, A Gonzo Noir. Declan himself tells us The Big O will be released in the US on September 22.
- Crime Scraps asserts Jo Nesbo has moved into the top spot in the hierarchy of European crime fiction writers with NEMESIS (my review). If Crime Scraps and I lived closer to each other, we could easily lend each other books, so close is our reading DNA!
- In Reference to Murder, in the spirit of the Olympics, lists some crime fiction news tidbits spanning the globe ( a bit like what I'm doing here) - some new titles to look out for.
- Chris Grabenstein is featured on Lesa's Book Critiques.
- DoYouWriteUnderYourOwnName has a set of pictures of Liverpool's Superlambananas, while MusingsFromAMuddyIsland continues to delight with her very visual blog posts.
- Pattinase thinks about what a book blogger should do about about reviewing a book that you don't like. This was an issue that I faced just recently.
- Petrona talks about the success of Linwood Barclay's NO TIME FOR GOODBYE and Swedish crime fiction to look out for.
- Weekly Geeks #14 will be all about book photos. For WG#13 I ran a competition related to Australian authors, even gave tips, like a list of the authors to be matched with the photos, but it wasn't very successful - too few entered!

I am looking forward to reading Nemesis, probably will wait until it comes out in PB. I read Devil's Star and Redbreast in the wrong order so I probably should start at the beginning again, once Nemesis comes out in PB.
I'm sure you'll enjoy NEMESIS. It came out here in trade PB. We rarely see hardbacks.
