Off to Singapore tomorrow

Things will be a little quieter here for the next few days.
I'm off to Singapore to do some presentations at a conference called Hands On Literacy. I'm talking about social networking, running an online community, and RSS feeds. If any of those things interest you, then you can see the bones of my workshops over at Smik's Learning Space.

It won't all be work though, some sightseeing and socialising too. I've been to Singapore several times now and am looking forward to being there again.

I'm not sure what my internet access will be like. I have scheduled some posts to cover my absence, just won't be doing things like Sunday Salon. I'm back in Australia next Wednesday.

So what books are making it into the bag?
The cardinal rule was meant to be that they had to be light, but then I'm supposed to have read THE 19TH WIFE by David Ebershoff by Sunday week.
But I'm sticking to thin and light ones for the rest. I only hope I am taking enough! I hate being without a book. But of course I can always buy one or two if need be.

The lucky travellers:
THE 19TH WIFE by David Ebershoff
A HOLLY, JOLLY MURDER by Joan Hess
THE CRUEL STARS OF THE NIGHT by Kjell Eriksson
OVERKILL by Vanda Symon
MYSTERIOUS PLEASURES edited by Martin Edwards.

The cat has gone off to friends for a holiday, so all we have to do now is pack the cases, and get on the plane.
