Today is my "window" on the 2008 Blog Advent Tour organised by Marg at Reading Adventures. I've been enjoying everyone's postings. I love the music that comes this time of the year.
Here is a rag-taggle of videos to enjoy.
One of my favourite voices: Dean Martin
And Sir Harry Secombe - one of best voices ever
Rolf Harris - Six White Boomers
Disney Christmas clips
The Night Before Christmas with John Cleese
Vicar Of Dibley Christmas Special Part 2.1
You will find this gives you links to the other parts of the series
Mr Bean Conducts Brass
Festive Brass
Burl Ives sings The Twelve Days of Christmas
Shrek - the Twelve Days of Christmas
Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.

Wow - what a festive feast!! Thanks for posting these. You've *almost* got me in the mood for Christmas . . . but I'm still desperately resisting thinking about it. I don't think it's going to go away, though, is it?!
I'm such a kid because my favorite ones were the Australian Boomers, Shrek and it just wouldn't be Christmas without Disney. What a clever post. Happy Holidays!
Loved your post. Silent Night also comes in a Danish version, which is very popular here.
-And the Disney Show! Gosh. They send it over here in Denmark on the afternoon of the 24th and I don't think you can ever get too old to watch.
I got myself a whole album of carols for my Ipod last year, I think it is about time I began listening to them :o)
Thanks for a great post.
I had great fun in locating these videos and was surprised at just how much there was to choose from.
What a great collection of videos for your post Kerrie!
Thanks so much for participating.
=) THat was fun! my 4yo enjoyed it immensely. My fave was definitely Disney with Mr. Bean a very close second. =) Merry Christmas.
Fun! I hadn't seen most of them, and we really enjoyed watching. Thanks!
Oh Kerrie, how did it take me this long to find my way to your blog? Not only do I love the Christmas soundtracks - Shrek, John CLeese! and rolf harris who I haven't heard in years!! what a feast of subversive and delightful Christmas music!! - but you read mysteries and your blog is devoted to them1 *sigh* We have a lot in common, since I read mysteries and fantasy mostly, and it's usually 3 or 4 mysteries to every fantasy, except for this year when I joined all of Carl's challenges! I've already put you in my blogroll :-) thanks so much for your delightful post, I have to show my kids as soon as I get them from daycare (they love Shrek and disney) and my husband loves the Vicar as I do, so there is something for everyone in your post! happy holidays to you down under!
what a wonderful sountrack! My favorite is Burl Ives.
Thank you for sharing.
wow, great post, really gets everyone in the Christmas mood.
I settled in to enjoy all of these, Kerrie. 'Six White Boomers' was new to me, but I loved it. 'The Vicar of Dibley' clip is a real favorite - I'm a big Richard Armitage fan. And 'Shrek's Twelve Days of Christmas' was also new and totally hilarious.
There's something here even for a bah humbug saying Scrooge like myself Kerrie. Loved the John Cleese version of 'twas the night before Christmas. Cheered me right up :)
Glad you are enjoying these folks. gave me great pleasure in choosing them!
I like Dean Martin but I prefer Bing. Great vids! I enjoyed watching them all :)
I enjoy seeing all the video :)
And one of my favorite is The Twelve Days of Christmas. And of course Disney Christmas songs is always great! It weren't be the same without them
Wishing you a Happy Holidays!
