Left Coast Crime - Update #5 - Fair Dinkum Crime

This morning's session went very well. If you are looking for a copy of the hand out click here.

We ended up with 55 people, and gave away about 50 books as door prizes, as well as a couple of jars of vegemite and tastes of vegemite on SAO biscuits, Cherry Ripes and Tim Tams.

It gave us a terrific opportunity to talk about the work of a number of Australian writers. (Thank you to everyone who gave us books!)

Our panel: (left to right) Kathy Hagen, Sarah Byrne, Kerrie Smith, Sunnie Gill, Helen Lloyd, and Ann Cornellier

I think your photo is more evidence that most crime fiction is read by women. :0)

Thanks for your efforts, all of you! Hope you enjoy the rest of the festival, you lucky lucky people :)

Yes Norman,

that's what I thought, too.

Wow Norman you're right...I counted only 5 blokes among the audience and none among the panel.

Well done Kerrie and all the panel - always good to get the word out about our great Aussie authors.

I hear your weather could have been better. We took my mother out to dinner for her birthday this week, and our waitress said one of the menu's listed fish dishes was unavailable because of bad weather in Hawaii.

Thanks Kerrie and all the panel. We are now told that we crave salt because it is an anti-depressant, so Vegemite is the answer!
Cheers.

My new theory is that all crime fiction is read by women and bald or balding men with beards.
Some people are shaving off their beards to bust my theory. I am sure there is a PhD thesis in there somewhere. ;o)
