Those are beautiful! The only gingerbread houses I've never made were with little milk cartons and graham crackers in school.
They are very edible. Last year Alison and her husbnad made 6 I think but that got a bit chorelike. Demolition begins on Christmas Day. This year one will go to our branch of the family, one to Alison's in-laws, and then one to celebrations in Ali and Mark's house. You can imagine how younger members of the family like eating them, while older ones who have an appreciation of how long they take to make and decorate are very reluctant to destroy them.
