This is one of those audio books, a cozy, that makes the time pass pleasantly enough.
The reader always suspects that a murder will happen: it is the promise of the title - but it takes about half the book for it to happen. Once it has occurred, it is quite exacting to cast your mind back through all members of the house party to see who might have hated the victim enough. For there would have had to be hate behind it wouldn't there?
Davina Porter does a remarkable job with a variety of voices.
