Review: THE SOUNDS OF CRIME, Maxim Jakubowski (editor)

UNABRIDGED Audio book from Audible.com (I purchased it)
by Lawrence Block, Val McDermid, Mark Billingham, Peter James, Christopher Fowler, Maxim Jakubowski (editor)

Narrated by Buffy Davis, Eve Karpf, Mike Grady, Eric Meyers, John Hasler

LENGTH: 2 hrs and 46 mins
AUDIBLE RELEASE DATE: 09-01-10

Publisher's blurb:
an exclusive collection of five brand new short stories by some of the best crime writers around. Using the theme of 'audio', this unique collection features brand new stories by Lawrence Block, Peter James, Val McDermid, Mark Billingham, and Christopher Fowler. By turns gripping, puzzling and sinister,The Sounds of Crime will chill your blood from the first spoken word to the last.

My take: each of these short stories was just 30 mins  and it was interesting to see what each author had chosen to do. I don't think I would rank any of the stories in the author's best work, but they whiled away the driving time.

My rating: 4.2

  1. Kerrie - Thanks for this review. Sometimes, short stories are just the thing for a drive...
