This week's Weekly Geek Challenge is to talk about bookmarks of which I have many. I often collect them almost without thinking, and friends and family know that I love them. If I give a book away I will put a bookmark in the book, and I love souvenir book marks.
And then there are the special ones like the metal one in the foreground sent to me by a dear friend in New York. The silk one on the right says JORDAN and my daughter brought it back for me recently.
The red leather one reminds me of a visit to WINDSOR CASTLE many years ago, and the small metal one at the top came from China with my sister in law.
I'm rarely at a loss for a book mark as you can imagine, but then I might use a shopping receipt, a post card, a torn envelope. I have been known to use a feather, a leaf, a bus ticket, even a paper clip, but I NEVER dog-ear the page of the book.
Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.

You have a lovely collection! I especially like the butterfly and the one with the "a book is a present..." quote. So true :D
Nice collection Kerrie. I've misplaced my camera so can't photograph mine right now :(
Many of the bookmarks carry memories. Although I must admit the ones that are for books rarely tempt me to read or even look for a book.
Losing/misplacing your camera sounds like a mini-crisis Bernadette. At least it would be for me.
Lots of fun ones here!
What a fine exhibition.
You remind me that I should collect some of mine and post about them.
Ooh, that one from Jordan is beautiful!
Kerrie, I love your collection. Even if I don't use them I appreciate looking at them.
Some collection. The metallic one looks great!
Mark it down
I really like the butterfly. I am so enjoying this weeks weekly geek.
Great collection.
Happy Weekly Geeks :)
Nice collection. I like the butterfly one best.
Your souvenir bookmarks are great! I wish I did that when I used to go places. Now I'm stuck where I am, after we had kids. Lol.
