This week's contribution to Pattinase's Friday's Forgotten Books.
While Bill Pronzini is by no means a forgotten author, there is every chance that books he wrote over 35 years ago are.
I don't think I've actually read many books by Pronzini, despite the fact that he has been publishing prodigiously since 1971.
THE VANISHED (1973) appears in my record for March 1982.
Synopsis
His name was Roy Sands, and he had everything to look forward to. He was getting out of the service and coming home to marry his beautiful Fiancee. He had his debts paid, money in the bank, and a happy new life ahead of him. Then he disappeared.
THE VANISHED is #2 in his Nameless Detective series (perhaps someone could tell me what that means), a series which he continues to write, with #36 appearing this year.
You can read the first 6 pages of the book on Amazon.

Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.

Funny how we miss readling certain authors.
I had no idea the early "nameless" (the detective never uses or is call by his name) books were still available.
Thanks for this.
Terrie
Thanks for helping me understand what "nameless" means Terrie. I thought it must be something like that.
