Sunday Salon - 17 October - spring is definitely sprung

Well that obviously doesn't apply in the northern hemisphere, but down under, here in Oz, things are getting warmer, if you ignore the horrendously wet and wild weather some places experienced in the last week.
This is the time for Spring Fairs, and soon it will be, as the shops are already set up to remind us, Christmas! At any rate the Christmas pageants will be upon us before we know it.

I couldn't resist this image from eclectic / eccentric. Looks just like my TBR, which I keep adding to, rather than reducing. I'm back to the old problem of too many good books to read and not enough eyes or time.

Yesterday we experienced one of those domestic catastrophes that arrive every few years. The TV died! So valuable reading time was spent in TV shops, parting with money, and then installing the new one, which is very nice. Just in time too. I had envisaged being unable to watch the new Hercule Poirot tonight.

  1. I wish it was spring instead of fall here! Christmas during the summer sounds wonderful to me!

  2. Kerrie - I love that image, too! Your TBR pile must closely resemble mine...

Sorry to hear about the TV; such a hassle, isn't it, to have to out, get a new one, have it put in, etc... But now you're all set for HP :-).

  3. Doesn't feel very Spring-y just now - am at my folks at West Lakes and it is blowing a gale and the wind is bitterly cold but I have been enjoying my walks to work a lot more the last week or two.

Must have been the day for gadget deaths yesterday Kerrie, my iPod died and as it is the only thing that makes me exercise (because I use it to listen to audio books while I walk) I went out straight away to buy a new one - which was actually cheaper, lighter and smaller than my 4-year old one.

As for that TBR pile I can only concur - I seem to be switching mine to the eReader but still am doing nothing to tackle the actual quantity of books available - if only they came with the time to read them inbuilt.

  5. THis new TV is a great experience Margot - almost 2x the screen of the old one. Bernadette, at least your iPod was cheaper than a TV

  6. I wish it were spring here. It's getting colder by the day and our central heating is on the blink - sometimes it works and then it doesn't.

My TBR piles are no smaller and it doesn't help that I keep on borrowing library books.

  7. Great posts as always. I'm always amazed at the reading, blogging, shopping and everything else that is accomplished here and by other reader/bloggers.

The TBR and TBO(ordered) piles are humongous and growing. I can't even add to lists right now, will bookmark the web pages for future reference.

  8. My TV died a couple of weeks ago. The new one is so much better (i.e. I can read the words on the screen without my glasses and squinting), but still, could have done without that expense!

    Have a good week.
