Best Crime Fiction Reads 2011 - so far - Titles with multiple mentions

I've begun collating the suggestions that came in as a result of my Mid-Way Report post.
People were able to list titles regardless of when they were published

17 participants have suggested over 140 individual titles.
Today's list consists of the titles that were mentioned more than once.
An interesting feature is that so many of them are translated books.

AN UNCERTAIN PLACE, Fred Vargas - 4
CROOKED LETTER, CROOKED LETTER, Tom Franklin - 4
THE LEOPARD, Jo Nesbo - 4
MERCY aka KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES, Jussi Adler-Olsen - 3

  2. Thank you. The lists are well appreciated.

I often find good book ideas from these lists, and I take notes!

The limitations are my library system, which refuses to get a lot of global fiction -- mystery or not, my own budget, the now absurd territorial restrictions and my time.

Just had a problem with Book Depository which refused to sell to a person in the U.S. a copy of Indridason's Outrage. Said the publisher restricted the book from U.S. sales. My first -- and not last -- problem with this ridiculous policy.

It's too expensive at Amazon, and even Abe Books. So I'll wait it out, hoping for a less costly price one way or another.
