I've participated in the Canadian Book Challenge hosted by John Mutford at the Book Mine Set for a couple of years now.
It serves as a reminder to me to look out for Canadian crime fiction authors, which is no hardship as there are some excellent ones. (Here is my summing up post for 2010-11)
The Canadian Book Challenge is an online reading challenge in which participants from Canada and around the world aim to read and review 13 or more Canadian books in a one year span: Canada Day to Canada Day. Reviews must be posted online and participants are asked to share links to their reviews with other participants. More on reviews and other FAQ's here.
Last year our achievements were marked by the names of mountains and this year we have a wetter route: I'm currently paddling on MACLURE'S POND (1 book read)
My first book is
4.4, SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET & Other Creepy Stories, Cheryl Kaye Tardif
Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.
