Are you ready for Christmas? - Only 17 days to go!
My list of to do's is huge - the cards, the presents, the lunch..
No, I'm not ready!
My posts this week:
- Review: ACRC#6: THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD, Agatha Christie
Part my Agatha Christie Reading Challenge. There's a link on the bottom to a series of TV episodes from YouTube - Crime fiction discoveries in 2008
My response to a meme that's been doing the rounds about new-to-me authors. Out of the 103 books I've read this year, I've read 42 books, by 36 new-to-me-in-2008 authors. - Featured "Reader"
Over on Pattinase's Friday's Forgotten Books, a series I've been contributing to for 6 months or so, my picture was featured. - Progress Report: BLINDSIDE, J.R.Carroll
I think this book should have an R rating! - Forgotten Book: SUGARTOWN by Loren D. Estleman
For my forgotten book this time I have chosen the first book recorded in my current database, read back in 2004, when this book had been published for 20 years. - Carnival of Criminal Minds #27
The host this time is Barbara Fister herself, at Scandinavian Crime Fiction, creator of the Carnival. - Australian LitBlog Snapshots
Over on Matilda, Perry Middlemiss recently announced his intention to run a series of "Snapshots" on Australian LitBloggers and I was the first cab off the rank.

I'm one of the 3 books at a time people, but then I counted the "actual book", Alexander McCall Smith's online book CORDUROY MANSIONS, and the book I'm listening to in the car.
The poll for the coming week: What is your favourite fiction style?
There are 11 choices, but you can only choose one.
I have used a wikipedia genre list.
Pop over and participate.
Currently reading
- now - SKINNY DIP, Carl Hiassen
- sometime soon - THE 19TH WIFE, David Ebershoff
- also listening to - CORDUROY MANSIONS, Alexander McCall Smith, ready for ch. 61
- in the car - BLINDSIDE, J.R. Carroll
I chose romance in the poll because I seem to be on a romance binge right now, but I don't have a single favorite genre. I will read almost any genre if it is combined with humor.
ReplyDeleteHello Dani
ReplyDeleteCan you check the poll again? I don't think your vote "registered"
I'm reading SKINNY DIP by Carl Hiassen at present. Very quirky somewhat macabre sense of humour but you might enjoy it.
Kerrie
I chose mystery, but I also love romances. I just seem to be on a mystery kick lately.
ReplyDeleteI need to rediscover some other genres Yvonne. I read far too narrowly.
ReplyDeleteI love to read at last three genres in the poll. But the poll allows us to vote only one.So I voted detective.
ReplyDeleteI am almost all done with my Christmas shopping. I still want to pick up a few things for my husband and I have to shop for my work Secret Santa. I just got the cards done today, what few I decided to do. The only thing missing are the decorations and I still haven't decided if I want to bother with them this year.
ReplyDeleteI love your polls, Kerrie. I don't always leave a comment, but I do visit your blog regularly. You provide me with my mystery fix. :-)
No reading lately for me. And I am yet to get gifts for mt nephews and nieces for christmas. Not in a mood you know.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoy the polls. I like seeing what people choose. The polls don't always show what I think they are going to. People can be very unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteLiterary Feline there is a chance that people who smugly announce they are nearly finished may be banned from commenting! :-)
Lin - I knew someone would complain they couldn't vote for more than one
Gautami- I hope the holidays give you some time and tranquillity for some reading.
sounds like you're keeping busy! :-)
