Many thanks to Kailana from The Written World and Marg from Reading Adventures for organising us.

  3. Ohh book suggestions. I've read a couple and really enjoyed them. What a great idea for the end of the year. I am going to have to check out your Christmas link also. Merry Christmas.

  6. I've already bought a few for presents. Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella for my daughter, and High Fidelity by Nick Hornby and Dancing for the Hangman by Martin Edwards for my husband. And there will be more! Great post.

  8. It's a fabulous idea to give books for Christmas (we do!), and, like Marg, I haven't read any on your list. Thanks for sharing. :-)

  9. What a great idea, offering up your best reads for a struggling Christmas gift buyer.

I love giving books for Christmas (lots of my family have books coming this year) but it can be so hard to match the book to the reader, especially if they read in a different genre than I do.

  10. Books are a favorite gift in our household too -- both to give and to receive. The Boxing Day is often spent with everyone curled up in a comfy chair reading their presents.

  11. Awesome post, and great recommendations! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who is a crime fiction fan, they all prefer other genres. But still a great idea!

  12. I don't really read the genre, but if I want to I know where to get some recs now. :) Thanks for joining in for the Virtual Advent this year!

  13. It's always great to find a list of new authors. I recognize some great books there, like Arctic Chill, Elizabeth George, and Louise Penny, so I'll have to check out the ones that I dont' recognize.

  14. I give books to my family every 2nd year. They receive sun hats on the other years.
    THIS is a book year.

  15. Oo, great book list! Thanks for that. And I love giving the gift of books for Christmas (or any occasion, really!). Gift cards also make it fun.

  16. Is Christmas actually Christmas without books...?

  17. Thanks for the list Kerrie. I've already bought three books as Christmas gifts this year: one for my brother and two for my father. I am going to look for a good crime fiction rec. for my mother, but since she's read EVERYTHING its hard to figure something out which she hasn't read yet. But your list will definitely help a lot.

  18. Great list of reads!

Stop by my blog if you get a chance and take a look at my list of favorite children's Christmas picture books. A winter storm knocked out our Internet connection yesterday, so I ended up posting today.
