Sunday Salon: the satisfaction of blogging


You've only got to look at my blog to understand how blogging is such a satisfactory experience for me.

I thought I would just initially use my blog to post my book reviews, and there are nearly 300 of them available on my blog at present. In fact I created another blog Smik's Reviews to make it easier for people to locate the reviews.

But my blog quickly became a venue for other activities, for participating in online events like Friday's Forgotten Books, Weekly Geeks, Book Review Blog Carnival and Sunday Salon. You'll find links to those in the right hand column.

And then I use it to run polls and communicate with other bloggers, and to try out web 2.0 tools.
I have even run some memes myself such as the Crime Fiction Alphabet.

You'll notice that I don't have a blog roll in the right hand column - that's because it got too long - so I created another blog which displays Blogs I'm watching. Go there if you are looking for some crime fiction blogs to watch.

And finally I have another blog about books: Agatha Christie Carnival - that's a monthly carnival where people submit their reviews and blog posts about Agatha Christie.

I've read a couple of good New Zealand crime fiction titles and a new Australian author** this week:

Very interesting that so many of us can count this book in our reading. This week saw the celebration of the book's 50th birthday.

    There is no doubt in my mind that you are one of the most passionate blogger that I know on the net and that must mean you are getting heaps of satisfaction from what you do...

    The kidlet and I appreciate it - you are our go to blog for good crime fic and some well thought out reviews, rant, snark and anything else you decide to toss our way in your post....

    Keep on doing your thing - as long as it makes you happy...

    Happy 50th TKAMB... read it years ago and still love it years later, the kidlet has already read it two times..
