2008 |
I've chosen the top reads from each year and aggregated them. There are 24 books on the list.
The number at the end of the line is the number of votes the book got.
Stieg Larsson was not mentioned by 2011 contributors, there is no doubt in my mind he would still be there if he was alive and writing.
I'm pleased to see some Australian authors making it into this list too. ***
Interesting too to see some names other than Larsson repeated: Johan Theorin, Megan Abbott, Arnaldur Indridason.
Translated titles abound too ++ (nearly half the list)
So what have you missed out on reading? - as you can see I have 3 to go.

Kerrie - Thanks for doing this. I appreciate the effort. I like the breadth here very much. It's nice to see some fine crime fiction from different parts of the world represented.
Great idea Kerrie. I've read 17 of the 24 books on that list and have read different books than those mentioned by all but one of the remaining authors. Must check out this Craig Johnson fellow.
Kerrie and Bernadette: I have read all of the Craig Johnson books with Walt Longmire. I consider it a great series.
Great list. I've read several so I'm relieved.
Are you sure about The Silence of the Grave? Arnaldur Indridason wrote a book with that title, which many of us -- who love his writing -- raved about this book.
Deanna Raybourne wrote Silent in the Grave.
You are right Kathy - there was an error, the Raybourn novel was called SILENT IN THE GRAVE
have very belatedly done mine, Kerrie. http://petronatwo.wordpress.com/2012/01/14/my-favourite-books-reviewed-in-2011/
