This title, the first in Australian author Marele Day's Claudia Valentine series was published in 1988 and I read it in 1992.
Most of my contributions this year to Pattinase's Friday's Forgotten Books come from my records for 1992.
Synopsis (from Fantastic Fiction)
Mark Bannister, writing "the bestseller of the century" is found dead at
his computer - the victim of a murder so perfect that Claudia Valentine
smells a rat, and wants it caught. The chase leads into the murky
underworld of Sydney.
I featured #2 in Marele Day's Claudia Valentine series THE CASE OF THE CHINESE BOXES a couple of years ago in Forgotten Books.
Marele Day received a Ned Kelly Lifetime Achievement award in 2008.
She won a Shamus Award in 1993 for The Last Tango of Dolores Delgado
Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.
