The winner of this year's CWA International Dagger is Johann Theorin's THE DARKEST ROOM, translated by Marlaine Delargy.
I reviewed it in February, giving it my highest rating, 5.0.
When I asked people to tell me the best crime fiction titles they had read so far this year, 15 people responded, and 6 (40%) included THE DARKEST ROOM on their list.
My own ranking of the CWA shortlist was
But I must admit I thought HYPOTHERMIA might just win.
Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.

Kerrie - I admit, I wasn't one of those who thought The Darkest Room would win. It's an excellent choice, though.l
