This my third posting to the Sunday Salon, and I have decided to number and date them rather than come up with inventive subject lines.This week I have blogged about
- Books by Australian author PD Martin, who recently released her third novel,FAN MAIL
- The recently released Children's Book Council of Australia short list, which really has nothing to do with crime fiction, but all to do with getting children and young people to read.
- Writing Winners: the fact that R.J.Ellory's A QUIET BELIEF IN ANGELS has topped Amazon UK's top 25 Bestsellers in Crime, Thrillers & Mystery for over 3 months now, and also that this week Alexander McCall Smith has 3 in the top 10.
- Reading List: the next 10 library books I am going to tackle
- Future plans: going to Melbourne Writers Festival in August this year, and Left Coast Crime in Hawaii next March
- Buy a Friend a Book Week = BAFAB: this occurs 4 times a year, and is the idea of Debra Hamel who also created the Sunday Salon
- People to read with: a summary of the groups I belong to that keep me reading
- People to read with: follow up. The face2face group has chosen a Scandinavian translation from a choice of 3 for our next read.
Off to the football this afternoon, courtesy of tickets our neighbours can't use.

Thanks for the round-up post, Kerrie. I've finally cracked and bought a copy of A Quiet Belief in Angels....
I know that the results didn't go your way, but it would have been a fantastic game to be at atmosphere wise, a bit like the Bulldogs V Adelaide game a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks for the link to the Children's Book Council site. Some of the best children's books of the past decade have come out of Australia so I'm always keen to keep up with what's new. I hope you'll tip me off when the award is made.
I don't read a lot of crime fiction so I read your post with interest. I was wondering where the idea for BAFAB week came from!
I love crime fiction. Most of the books I read fall under thrillers.

I've got a copy out from the library Maxine - just need to set asise time to read it. looking forward to it though.

I don't read much else than crime fiction - I enjoy it so much that when I do stray into something else I spend a lot of the time thinking about whether it is worth my while.
I am listening to Richard E. Grant read Ken Follett's WORLD WITHOUT END as I drive to and from work.
