A few "short lists" have emerged this week, and some titles are appearing on more than one.

Kerrie - Thanks for these lists. I wish I'd read more of those books, too. The ones I have read are very good, and it'll be interesting to see which titles win.

You should definitely get your hands on a copy of THE LAST CHILD by John Hart Kerrie - it's already won the two 'biggies', the Edgar and the CWA Steel Dagger, and it is very good (although quite different, so I imagine some readers may not like it)...

I haven't ever really been big into crime fiction until recently, mainly because I had never given them a try. A friend gave me a rather intriguing crime fiction for my birthday titled, "Rogues, Riches and Retribution" by Harry Taylor, and am now hooked... can't get enough crime fiction. I am so excited to read the books from your list!
